Buckeye Vizsla Rescue, Inc.
A 501c3 Non Profit

To Help you identify a Vizsla

Buckeye Vizsla Rescue, Inc (BVR) is dedicated to finding good homes for Vizslas in need. Most of us have been doing Vizsla rescue since 1995 as the rescue arm of the Miami Valley Vizsla Club, Inc.

In 2014, Buckeye Vizsla Rescue, Inc. was created to be an independent non-profit organization. The goal and policies are unchanged from when we functioned for MVVC. We  handle the rescuing of pure-bred Vizslas. We accept them from shelters, from other rescues and from individuals.

We have received approval from the  IRS and are now a  501c3 Non-Profit. As such all donations are eligible for tax deductions, within the limits of the law. We hope to be providing a variety of fund raising opportunities.

Click on the PayPal Link to make a donation to the cause! Join us to help Vizslas in need however you can!

We are also registered as an Amazon Smiles Charity. When making your purchases through Amazon, please select Buckeye Vizsla Rescue as your charity

Following is the info:
4yo bitch from a commercial breeder - she's a trainwreck. Will need a patient, Vizsla, and behavior savvy adopter. Cinnamon is a 4-year-old female that came to us from a puppy mill situation. She spent all of her early life living in a cage... So much that her feet are splayed and she is missing a toe.
She is a very special case and will take a very special home. She has very little socialization. She is easily frightened and her first reaction is to freeze and drop to the floor. As a result, we carry her outside to potty and she comes back in via the dog door. She can come in on her own, but she won't (as of yet) go out on her own.
Her favorite thing to do is to cuddle on the couch. That's the first place she goes when she is let out of her crate, or rather, at any time. She is quiet in her crate, and will try and let you know that she needs to go out, but given her past, she will pee in it if necessary. She typically eats at night (in her crate) when things are quiet. She is slowly learning to trust, but that fear will always be there. She is extremely laid back and gets along with the other dogs... But her interaction with them can be fairly minimal. She just would rather be on the couch. She will come to you on the couch and cuddle.
She won't ever be the dog you can take on walks, or to the dog park at the moment. I'm not sure if she ever will be. She's low maintenance energy-wise and just wants attention and a safe soft spot on the couch. She also would love to sleep in bed with you but that also needs to be worked up to.
She will take work, but she deserves the best after her start in life. If you are interested or know someone who is experienced enough and can handle the work she deserves
